The forecasted rain for Sunday March the 1st was a no-show. In its stead, the rare winter sun shone warmly. However, our constant companion, the Dutch wind, was blowing stronger than usual. But instead of resistance and impediments, the wind reminded me of something else. A song and a promise: "May pag-asang darating dala ng ihip ng hangin / May pag-asang darating dala ng bahag-hari. (Hope comes ushered by the wind / Hope arrives with the rainbow)."*
And so we kicked off the 2015 Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship (LSE) Training Program for Filipinos in the Netherlands. No less than H.E. Ambassador Jaime Victor B. Ledda and Minister and Consul-General Marie Charlotte Tang of the Philippine Embassy in The Hague attended our opening ceremonies.
Sincerity and staunch support rang true in Ambassador Ledda's words of inspiration for LSE Batch 29. Prof. Edgardo T. Valenzuela, our resource speaker on Leadership, peppered his overeiw of the LSE programme with stories of LSE alumni. Noel Moog of LSE 21 gave a down-to-earth and honest restrospective of his own experience with LSE. He demonstrated he was an LSE alumni to the core when he shared an insight echoed by everyone famous and respected in the entrepreneurial scene: Changing his attitude about finances, his perspective about life, work, and relationships -- himself -- was the most profound transformation he underwent.
We wish LSE 29 a memorable and worthy experience. May they begin the transformation they need, and the transformation that matters.
